This is AMAZING and so so detailed. I know I’ll be circling back to this time & time again here in this 4th trimester & beyond.

Dr. Brook's postpartum care guide is a true gem- even as a second time mom, I learned so many tips I wish I'd had the first time I gave birth around managing healing for scars and breathing properly. The information is clear and easy to digest, even for a newly postpartum (and sleep-deprived!) mama. Highly recommend for any pregnant or newly postpartum person!

MEET THE CREATOR—Dr. Brook Orvis, PT, DPT, WCS

There’s no greater feeling of defeat than having and taking care of a baby, only to realize that in order to take care of your baby you also need to be able to take care of yourself--but you don't know how. No one knows this feeling more than me.

Over five years ago I began my journey in the treatment of clients with pelvic floor dysfunction. It was during this time that I noticed the huge gaps in care being provided to pregnant and birthing parents and how little we actually prepare them in how to take care of themselves after having a baby.

Fast forward three years later I found myself pregnant and getting ready to deliver my own daughter. During my difficult postpartum recovery I personally realized how little guidance I was given by my medical providers on how to care for myself once my baby arrived. What a huge disservice to birthing parents!

As a result of my own postpartum experience and trauma, I started my own physical therapy private practice in 2023, Flora Physical Therapy, based out of Durham NC. My hope as a pelvic floor practitioner is that I can help make medical care for birthing parents more accessible through online content through social media and e-guides, as well as skilled pelvic floor physical therapy treatment brought to patients within the comfort of their own homes through telehealth, wellness, and in-home treatment options. I don't want other parents being unable to care for themselves after having a baby because access to care is unavailable or because of a lack of access to childcare.

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

It’s time to feel like yourself again.
